Debating between lateral offers in corporate groups at Morgan Lewis and DLA. Large legal market but not NYC, DC or SF. Pros and cons of each? Should I use the offers to get more money out of the othe…
Morgan Lewis response to COVID19 illogical and unhelpful. Allowing employees to work two days per week remotely. Guess those employees better choose the right days to avoid the virus.
Feedback on working at Morgan Lewis? Specifically the L&E group and/or working in a non-NYC/DC office.
For those in the US market, what are your thoughts on King & Spalding vs. Morgan Lewis. I am not in the US now but would be looking to return to the States eventually (probably in 2 to 4 years) so…
Any insight into working at Morgan Lewis would be great! East coast/non-Philadelphia office, corporate practice.
For labor and employment, would you rather go to Jackson Lewis or Morgan Lewis? The pay is about $60k less at JL, but I think I’d have more autonomy as a fifth year. Thoughts?
Thoughts on Morgan Lewis? I am particularly interested in the litigation group in Chicago.
What's the harshest thing your Buyer has ever said to you? Ex: Buyer emailed my colleague "instead of sharing photos of our empty shelves why don't you spend your time getting us more product"
To hr professionals in finance..I’m considering getting an online certificate through Cornell in data/analytics. Worth it or do employers think it’s equivalent to Coursera?
Which books would you recommend to a product counel for tech startup about strategy, management, and leadership?
I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
Advice on taking and passing the SPHR exam?
First full day back in the office. I guess I’m not too upset but I did like work from home…
If I give notice on a holiday week, would the 4 day work week count as a full week for the 2 weeks notice?
I’m a 2016 grad making $120k in a small to mid-size regional firm. I’m based in Nashville. My firm’s management is trying to survey other small to mid-size regional firms to get a feel for where the comp is now, especially in light of the big law increases that are making headlines, and to see just how far below market we may have fallen. Any additional data points from smaller regional firms (especially if you have a presence in Nashville or across the SE) would be appreciated! TIA
When drafting an MSJ is it better to address the ways that OC might overcome it; or is it better to just generally say why you’re entitled to MSJ and avoid tackling the finer issues that your MSJ presents?
Actively seeking a new opportunity and I am slowly starting to feel discouraged due to lack of response. Anyone else having issues searching for employment right now?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Do you use a second monitor for your laptop? If so, which brand do you use? I have sidetrack and it’s a hit or miss when it will work.
Looking for feedback on Paylocity and UKG payroll HRIS. We have 250 employees and rapidly growing company.
How much value do companies place on HR experience in a specific industry? My thought is that HR is HR wherever you go, and it shouldn’t be difficult to switch industries (e.g. manufacturing to financial services), mid- to late-career. But what has been your experience?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Good morning, I work for Solugenix placing top notch candidates at companies throughout the US. I just started at Solugenix so anyone who needs any assistance either finding a job or looking for candidates please let me know. Thanks and have a great day.
How often do you respond to emails from law students who want to learn about your firm/practice area? I get like a dozen requests right around OCI every year. Frankly I’m tired of speaking to them and answering the same boring questions, especially if I know they have a low GPA and no chance of summering at my firm, but I do feel bad saying no/ignoring them
Folks, what should be the comp range in Atlanta for a second year Senior Associate with a total 5 YOE in consulting (Big 4)? Any info will be helpful. Thanks!
Remember this while you're interviewing: the nicest an employer will ever be to you is when they're trying to recruit you. If they jerk you around then, heed that as a warning accordingly.
Why’s it called FAANG and not like FAMAG or something? In my opinion I hardly ever find anyone who’s able to switch into Netflix whereas Microsoft is still a top tier tech firm and is always hiring undergrads and even non tech folks
I finished my student teaching in the beginning of May. I’ve been applying to positions ever since. I got a job offer in my first choice grade level but it’s a 45 minute drive. I’m feeling overwhelmed that if I don’t take this job I might not get another offer. My husband says this school is too far and to look for a job closer. There aren’t many jobs around the Central Valley. Does anyone else commute to work? Will 45 minutes get exhausting?

Starting at a new school this year and found out I’ll be paid at a first step. I have three years experience. The contract says the committee will decide salary based on experience. Let it go or push?
Friendly reminder to those “celebrating” tonight...Covid is still out. Don’t be licking doorknobs and wear your mask when you can 😁
1.5 years of MBB consulting, and another 2 years of Deloitte consulting. Getting an offer for a manager at a large startup in Toronto. Offer is $110k plus 20% bonus (no equity). Really cool role but

Oh man. Client doesn't want to shell out for an analyst. Who the heck is going to take notes on workshops and make sure we capture all the requirements? Whose going to support locally when I fly out?!
So, just what did Nick Emery do to get fired? ‘Prank gone wrong on zoom’ is all I’m hearing
Are the days of getting an MBA when you’re already in consulting (pre-MBA) over? What’s the value of it with direct promotion?
I’m interested in transitioning to a role in the consumer markets sector. I’ve been on a staff aug project doing back office compliance work so I’ve been trying to apply to different firms but I’m not having much luck. As additional background I’ve been running a successful side hustle for about 6 years, and I’ve gotten a decent understanding of growing a small business, consumer habits, but unfortunately I don’t have any consulting experience in consumer markets. Any advice or leads? TIA!
So trying to use a bonvoy suite night award for the first time. I noticed the suite itself isn't showing as available if I try to book normally. Does that mean I won't get it?
