I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

Work BURNOUT… LET’S TALK ABOUT IT. So a little back story. I am 38 a full full time single mom. I work about 60 hours per week. I do not get child support. My employer currently expects me to bring in 15 new customers & 100 existing every month… minimum. I have realized with my upcoming paid time off that I am burnt out. I recently have had no motivation to produce because I so desperately need a break. I sell internet and am the 2nd top producing rep in the region. Opinions to get my mojo back.

Advice- My team were all given a raise in March except me. I brought it up to my manager who recently started. First reaction was I am still new and a raise wasn’t warranted. I told him 2 other recruiters on my team started when I did. He said he would need to look into it. Today he told me 3 of my HM’s don’t feel supported (despite having the 2nd most hires) and I could either resign or go on a PIP. I’m the only minority on my team have double the req load and supporting the most dept.

I’m getting ready for my first telephonic Case Management Conference as a first year associate. I’ve never been “in front” of a judge before. I received some training and I look forward to the experience, but I’m a little nervous about having to speak in front of the judge. I know the case, but I’m afraid I’ll freeze and make a fool of myself. Any advice re: court calls, courtroom etiquette, or stories about your first times in front of judges?

(Not greedy just genuinely want to inquire) What are some skills that are really important to bring to the table for such a role? Cheers! Google

When you’re interviewing for a new job, how do you balance sharing your professional experience against the sensitivity of items that HR handles? If the interviewer didn’t know my current company it would feel different, but since they do know I’m concerned about “over sharing” - ex. saying attrition is a problem at anonymous company and this is how we’re addressing it feels different than saying attrition is a problem at X company. Does that make sense? Am I over thinking this?

Any parents here? My wife and I would love to move to London. We have 4 kids, and I can’t conceptualizer how we could afford to live in the salaries I see. 4 YOE and the best I can see is 50-60K. Is that reasonable for the cost of living? Are there social supports for kids that make it cheaper until my income grows? Can I rent for <1,700 quid with a decent commute? Would love to hear your perspectives.

30th birthday present watch accessory ideas.

A lot of knowledge on here so asking for some help. It’s my partner’s birthday and I’ve no idea what to buy him. He’s a watch fanatic - Pateks (sports and dress), Audemars (sports and dress), Rolex (sports), Omega (sports).

I’m obviously not buying him a watch for his birthday (in his dreams!) but any idea for some good accessories? He’s already got a PP watch winder, and has bought multiple nice straps for the dress watches. I’m completely lost.

How do most people’s firms calculate billable hours for associates? In other words, what hours are counted towards your target? Do you get credit for things like CLE’s, mandatory trainings, etc.? What about pro bono work (assigned by the firm) or writing for firm publications? Or time that a billing partner writes off on paid matters? What about sick or other leave credits? Is it pretty much everyone’s experience that it’s just straight billable hours on paying clients?

Dear all,
I am sharing an experience with you. Please suggest where I can put forward this/ complaint for
EY Gds. I was mailing HR since 2 weeks, but no response. Thanks to onBoarding team, someone from HR team, responded but she had lack of manners. She didn't talked to me good and I felt as if I am being accused of cheating the firm. Now, I am hopeless about joining this firm (although I wanted to). Can anyone tell, where can I raise such concerns.

Thanks
