Any other junior associates have no work? I’ve reached out to people but it’s just slow. Less than ten hours so far this month....
Any POC attorneys who feel they are held to higher standards than their non-minority peers? How have you navigated that and not let it get you down that you have to work harder to be taken seriously?
Anyone else really over seeing these JDs fussing about the online bar exam? I mean, it's delayed (extra time is extra time...the rest of us had until the end of July), plus it's online. I remember the pure fear I had walking into the testing location. At least there is some solace in knowing you're in your own space. Thoughts?
As a new associate, just having graduated and taken the bar, what expectations do you have for the work you will handle in a transactional practice you are joining... In the first few days, first few months and the end of your first year?
Thoughts on getting a prenup for a first marriage? As background, my parents are both lawyers and basically everyone in my family is divorced so I have a warped view and would consider getting one. However, my SO is a non-lawyer and is against them.
How do you communicate with employees who don't want to wear masks? Unbelievable to me people still have issues grasping this need.
New attorney here - Passed the Feb bar exam and started working at a small firm in March. Boss is great, staff is great, I just feel like I know literally nothing about how to actually practice law. The paralegals know more than I do. I can barely write a complaint, and I don’t even know how to file. Any advice on gaining confidence when just starting out? P.S. My boss (the only other attorney) isn’t available to answer my dumb questions 8-5. I can only catch him after hours.
I’ve seen podcasts on successful practice, legal tech, leaving law for other careers, other timely topics, but none dedicated to authentic convos re how hard it is to be human in this field...(cont’d)
Hey. For people who’ve moved laterally, how did you deal with the request for references from your current employer?
Anybody have any experience taking the Georgia Attorney’s Exam? I’m sitting for it in February and wanted to hear others’ experiences with studying and sitting for it

Read articles about brands asking their agencies for gender and diversity stats. I mean, great! But they should first address agency budgets to allow for proper pay and live/ work balance.

HELP: I have been a TA for 5 yrs, and prior my role was HR/recruiter.I have tried to get out of TA and move into HR but I am having a difficult time. I have applied to entry level HR roles, simply to “start” fresh, and have not seen any luck for 2yrs.It’s not that I don’t like TA, but my company has no growth option and I am stuck at a dead end, unless a magical spell is casted. I have also applied to other TA roles as well, in hope to get industry experience. How can I better market myself?
