I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.

I’m curious - let’s say you have a role to fill but they are targeting only female candidates to balance out the team. What recruiting strategies can i implement to meet those needs?

Hi everyone! In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?

My male boss recommended the book “The Confidence Code” which is a self help book for women. It was recommended to all the females that work under him. I feel like that's a little inappropriate?

Curious what the base and commission structure is for inside sales and associate director of sales in biotech (also anyone else who wants to share pls put industry). Paid hourly or salary? At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.

As an experienced, SHRM certified HRBP , I would just like some feedback on your opinion of the differences in the roles between an HRBP an HR Manager besides the obvious that the manager should have direct reports. I am an HRBP and work in step with 3 HRM’s. They all 3 just got out of cycle raises of between 5-20% 😳 and I received nothing. I am quite aware of our HR code that salary is confidential but I was told about this. Would you be looking for other employment? Or stay?

Does anyone need a hr coordinator, or entry level talent acquisitions coordinator that is 100 remote? Remote jobs are extremely competitive and when I find job posts on LinkedIn there are already over 100 applicants. Very competitive!I am open minded about salary,I have so much interest in expanding my skills. I’m contracting with a company in an admin role, but sometimes I’m asked to do projects that would normally be outsourced to a marketing or design company like designing a flyer for example. It’s not in my job description, but I have the skills to do this work and so why not ask me to do it? Is it out of the question to ask if I can be paid for that work under a separate fee as a consultant or something? Is that even possible?

Hi, I’m currently working as a recruiter in the light industrial and I’m really sick of the non stop calls, interviews and just the nature of this profile. Earlier I was contemplating moving to another field in recruitment but now I’m considering switching to another profile in HR where I can do backend processes/ payroll/ hr systems, cz I want to leave the calls and interviews and sourcing.. please suggest profiles I could take a dig in and explore? I am going to move in the next few month to a location with a higher cost of living due to personal circumstances. I love my current company but I’ve only been here a little over a month, how should I go about requesting if it’s possible to get a salary increase? I’m highly interested in taking the PHR, and I’m wondering if I would qualify for the 4 year HR professional job requirement to be eligible to test for the certificate. Am I being paid competitively? I have been the Onboarding Sup for my HR dept for over a year now and I’m being paid the state min for salary, which for CA is 62,400. I have not gotten a merit raise since the last 2 January’s, the state raises the threshold for salary folks. My company says that was my raise. Is this right? I bring a background from the clinical operations of my company, scheduling, field work, and what the average employee faces. I want to look else where but I’m not sure.
