20+ years of working in the legal field. I’ve been looking for a position as a personal injury paralegal for over a month with no luck. I’m starting to wonder if it’s my age. I’m in the Charlotte, NC area if you know of any openings.

Has anybody stopped paying Canadian CPA dues and let their membership lapse? I'm working in the US and I recently got my US CPA. I can't think of any good reason to keep paying these high annual dues, from what I can tell I'm not getting anything from being a Canadian CPA. Any advice?

Now that aside, their LinkedIn posts everyone at VP SVP levels are joining.. seems like they are growing very fast, as hiring at such high Positions happens only that time.

I moved to Philly from Chicago burbs for my current job in 2017. Love working for this company. They believe in employee growth and put in their time effort and money behind their current employees. 2020 has been though, I still have my job but have never missed my family this much. Since we’ve been working from home, I’ve stayed with family for couple of months. Now I don’t feel like living away from them. Just confused between family and career. Any advice?

StockX shipment notification shows my Nike’s coming from Hong Kong. Should I be worried they’re fakes? (China is where some real ones are made, and some fake ones). They say they’re products are shipped to them and verified but the DHL tracking shows their path direct from Hong Kong to me in USA.

Currently a paralegal at a small start up financial services company been there for just a little over a year. I wear “multiple hats” but more recently I’ve done a lot of PM work and some BA work. My position title is changing soon but I’m wondering how helpful that would be for wanting to go into PM work at a tech company. Anyone have any career pivot advice? (Also I’m only 1.5yrs old in my career so I’m definitely still new, and I have previous experience as a project assistant).

When you walk in Friday morning to a dumpster fire of a file (that you’ve never worked on before) sitting on your desk, with no note or email to go with it. It’s as if I’m supposed to magically divine what to do with it. 🤦🏼‍♀️

How can the attorney you work for make your life easier, make it easier to do your job, make you less stressed?

I started working for a new law firm, much larger than the firm I was working for previously. The main attorney that I work under had noticed some mistakes I was making (I am a NY paralegal who took this position with the understanding that they’d be teaching me NJ and NYC real estate). Anyways, the attorney decided to tell the HR manager about the mistakes I had been making. Rather than HR discussing with me, the manager told my dramatic coworker to tell me..how should I handle this? Very hurt!

Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

How much do part time, experienced paralegals in Pennsylvania make?

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. I'd like to keep my current job part-time but get back in a lawfirm too.

An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. What is the average paralegal salary in NC for a commercial real estate law office? I’ve been with a great firm for the last 9 years but am starting to wonder if I’m being compensated fairly. The company is about 30 employees (mostly attorneys) but I work primary for 4 of the attorneys.
