North Park or near Liberty Station are great neighborhoods!
North Park, South Park, University Heights or Normal Heights (by 30th and Adams). All are walkable, love dogs and we have pickleball leagues in most rec centers in those neighborhoods. I go to Grape Street dog park in South Park at least once a week and never had any issues. Great dog park, ample space and friendly dogs/people.
I’d suggest checking out Solana Beach and Encinitas. VERY dog friendly. 🐶
Really depends on what you are looking for. North county has some amazing places in Carlsbad. There is poinsettia park that is a dog park and has free open play all day from 8 am to 10 pm. Bunch of other places also. If you end up coming what level are you at pickleball? Happy to introduce you to some folks.
All these places mentioned are grea. Just depends you vibe. With the knowledge you gain here, I recommend a scouting trip now and go spend time in those areas yourself. Boots on the ground
For sure north park or bankers hill
If you stay in north park, be careful of grape street dog park. Little dogs have been snatched there by coyotes.
Bankers hill might be a good option (but expensive). Across the street from balboa park
