Hi Guys, need help from you
I interviewed for tcs for SAP function Consultant and cleared technical as well as managerial round on same day. Next day I received mail from HR that I have been shortlisted and require to submit all the documents.
My CCTC is 21 LPA ( 19 fixed) and I put my expectations as 27 LPA (30 percent hike on Current CTC), YOE- 5.8 years till now and then need to serve 3 month NP ( till joining 6 years)
Which designation should I ask to TCS HR?
Mad CTC can I expect from TCS?Tata Consultancy

I don’t know, maybe I’m an outlier here, but I don’t feel like the job market is that hot right now. If you’ve already graduated and don’t have a job… a job at $128k feels a hell of a lot better than no job. Also take into account how mounting months of unemployment will look on your resume
As a senior associate in NJ, this offer is average if you are near the top of your class. I know a few NJ law firms whose starting salary are between 130 and 140. Billables roughly the same. At the end of the day, you need to understand what market is for your background. You may have a better shot with the Philly market as opposed to NY market if you want a v200 firm.
225k and above only…
I’m not sure why anyone would take less than $225k for their first year if it’s NYC or a large firm unless you don’t have a good law school and grades on your resume. If you can land it, then that’s the salary you should be asking for.
It was the "I don't see why anyone would ever..." ...."oh wait I forgot there are people who didn't go to a T14"
That’s pretty good for Jersey honestly. Coming out of Rutgers it can be hard to break into big law (I finally did but it took awhile)
1. Yes, keep applying.
2. Not considered competitive since 1800 billable rqmt is within the ball park of many Cravath scale firms.
NJ partner here. It’s a little on the light side, but in the range so medium firm that fits. The large ID firms that everyone here s&*ts on pay better than that at entry level, so the range definitely goes up from there. And P1 is 100% on. In this market, 128K is better than 0K.
What part of Jersey?
This is a good offer for NJ, but comp will be better in NYC. You should accept but also keep looking
Are you currently employed? If you're post grad and you don't have a job, you should probably take that job and stick with it for a year or two and then consider other options at a later time.
Accept it for now and keep looking. I had higher offers from local firms coming out of RU more than a decade ago. Alternatively, consider a clerkship. Plenty in NJ since state courts turnover every year and, at that salary, you’re not giving up much in comp/will likely make it back in spades.
