Hi all.
Has anyone in IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.
And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?
I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.
Thanks in advance

Consider taking a sabbatical to get the credential
Other options would be switch to a non accounting role like a financial analyst or something where not having the CPA won't be a hindrance.
Try to switch to risk and just get the CISA?
Try CISA or CIA. CISA is definitely easier coming from people who took both exams. CIA part 3 is a bitch. Both exam are easier compare to CPA.
Will be difficult to land even a senior accountant position at a large company without CPA. The other candidates applying for the job will have the license and you'd need to be amazing to get the position over them. Best advice here is to focus and nail down that exam. It will be very difficult to go far in your career in accounting without the license.
Switch to consulting.
The sabbatical idea might be a good one. If you absolutely can't pass, consider going into industry at a smaller company (read: nonpublic) in a senior accountant role. You can get at least what you are making now, probably (at least $70k in Dallas, I believe) assuming you are at a big 4 firm or one of the well known large firms. Once you get out of public you might find that you have the time and energy to study for and pass the CPA exam. The real concern is the possibility of advancement and wage growth over time. You can find a place that will offer advancement opportunities. Just look carefully. Don't take recruiters at their word. Ask lots of questions before accepting a position.
What prevents you from doing it? Maybe you should look into ways to get it instead.
I think it would be very difficult to get a manager role without the CPA title directly but you might go into industry as a senior, work your butt off, and prove yourself capable of being a manager in a year or teo

I heard it's a lot better to have the CPA completed, especially at your point in your career. In the long run it will have a big differential in your salary. Do you have any completed? If you have some done might as well push a little harder and complete them all. Not worth it to give up at this point in your career
