Is it 5 or 9.
5 for Gov is ok given working 9-5 schedule and low charge rate. But by 9 years you should be making over 130 just for having that much experience.
Yeah its kind of low, but could be worse. Deloitte tends to low-ball and bring people in at a lower level. Was it still a pay increase?
Honestly speaking, unless you are coming from another respected consulting company, you are going to get screwed over as an experienced hire. Why does it matter how much you are “supposed to get” when its a pay increase- it just depends on whether or not you can live with the fact that you are getting underpaid for what you do. All of this is coming from a guy who is also underpaid and has a masters. For further context, my SO came from WH, DoD Sec Defs office, and received 20k less than I did. I came in from IBM, same years of experience, similar masters (hers from Georgetown), and that was it. SO did way more shit than I did and couldnt even negotiate for a higher pay.
5-9 years in relevant consulting experience?
I’ve heard Deloitte will generally cap experienced hires at a certain percent increase from their previous job.
Yea it’s probably about middle of the overall pay band. I’ve seen Cs come in at 70k so I wouldn’t say you’re being super underpaid
Please tell me again that you have a masters degree because let me compensate you $0 for that- the truth
Dam that’s low
5-9 years in government space
9 years total experience, but maybe 5,6 relevant. How should I level set when going up for promotion then? I know a new SC with 4 years exp, making 115k.
It’s about what you would make as a C who was a campus hire and no masters.
It was a pay increase, but I also want to be sure I am compensated for my skills.
I'll add I have a Masters degree.
As a point of reference, I'm a newly promoted senior associate. Spent one year as an associate and 4 years as a marine officer. I'm at 94k. No masters. That's federal too
Any signing bonus?
8k so bonus
Depends on how much of a pay increase to you. I think it’s not that bad because you will more than likely get a bit of a bump this year after evaluation. I know consultants with masters that don’t make that.
Low for 5-9 years of experience..
No
