The 6th person is another Black woman. The firm always does the bare minimum to create plausible deniability. *sigh*

I’m so sorry. She should consult with a plaintiff side employment lawyer to evaluate her case.
Even if there is another Black woman who was promoted, she could still have a case as there are many factors that go into establishing a prima facie case.
There is a Women of Color in Law bowl, if she’d like to join and discuss things further there.

We all understand, though right that the only reason to contact a lawyer in a situation like this is so that that lawyer can help you negotiate a good to great severance. Suing a law firm as a Black or IPOC attorney is ALWAYS career suicide. Suing a law firm will mean you’ve turned your law degree into a Saul Goodman nightmare of being a solo practitioner, family lawyer, we’re struggling PI attorney.

Yes, a good plaintiff side employment lawyer will strategize a way to resolve this confidentially. No need to bring an action in open court. The law firm may also have an arbitration agreement, which would be another obstacle to filing in court.
