How early is too early to ask for a raise?
Hi there! Interviewing w/Amazon for a non-tech role (Associate Category Manager aka Associate Buyer) and was asked what my salary requirements are for base+bonus+equity. Can anyone share insight on what Amazonians make in this role. I have 4 YOE and glassdoor is not very helpful.
Any feedback is appreciated 🙏 Amazon
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

It might just mean the budget is capped. How much more did you ask for?
Seems like a stretch of correlation. Depends where that initial offer was. Them coming with the strongest they can give is a great sign. If it were at the lower end of the range, not be a good sign.
Not necessarily. Inflexibility about an offer could just be a budget constraint thing. It has no real bearing on their willingness to be flexible about things like PTO, working from home, etc. I wouldn't let this keep me from accepting if the offer is solid even without any wiggle room.
Not necessarily. It might just mean they are tight on budget for the role

If they have a budget - maybe it’s them being up front. But also sounds strict.
