6 years in and I make less then half of that. I'm in NYC and that sounds like a unicorn position for that level of experience and comp.
Project manager 1 your dms are not open for chatting
That level of comp is quite high for a second yr. That it's fully remote is the massive cherry on top. In short - yes, unicorn in more ways than 1
To me, yes. I have a decade of experience, half of which in big law, and still don’t make that much
Yep. On my way out to start a solo firm.
The reality is they are missing out on years of valuable training that will make them a better lawyer in house

As product counsel, there was very little to learn at my firm, so I left. I could see commercial counsel experience at a firm being valuable, but like A2 said, it’s not that hard to learn on the job. I’m not the best negotiator, but I do fine and I honestly try to just avoid that work when I can. Hasn’t hurt my career at all
How is this even real?

Which practice group are you in? This is the biggest factor.

This is about what I made as a 3rd year in tech, and this was a few years ago. Not unrealistic. I’m now 6 YOE and all-in at 450+.
I do wonder what his base salary is. My guess is it’s closer to 200, with the rest being paper money (did they go to a pubco?)

Your buddy definitely got a top of the market salary, but it’s definitely not unrealistic.
