Yea, same with external hires getting paid more than internally grown consultants for the same level, and they get surprised when we decide to leave - enjoyed my time in Accenture but I'm out
Same here
All these anecdotes about Accenture giving people raises and promotions this year... It's just going to make my disappointment and let down harder in November. I'll give Accenture the chance to true up my pay to market. But I'm thinking this is my last year here. Unless of course the economy crashes and I'm back to just hoping not to get laid off.
Comp isn’t determined via value internally (or delivered once you’re highered in,) it’s the net lowest money to get you in or keep you loyal. We pay the top grads more than homegrown because they are getting similar or better alternative offers. As a part time student (at least at the Kellogg) you had less opportunity to go through on campus recruiting and therefore the logic goes you have less competition for your skills
This is a valid point, just the job market is on fire right now so it surprises me this logic holds but I do get it.
I understand your disappointment but in my experience the company makes up the difference over time. Maybe not fast enough in this market, but I’ve gotten adjusted significantly over the years when out of band.
Appreciate the insight and believe over time it would catch up. But as someone newer to this career and supporting a family as single household income, the gap in one year of going after an MBA offer elsewhere is just to much to be patient for. I definitely understand policies and reasons for not giving same offer to an internal hire but it’s a shame it can’t be considered on a situation dependent scenario.

It's this way at every firm (I'm at D). We do it to compete with other industries from top MBA programs - you have to decide tho if money is more important or your status/growth within your current firm where you have a network.
I definitely get it at senior levels of the network but it’s seems bonkers that they won’t offer the same amount to someone who was grinding it out and understands the way to do things at Accenture. I mean we are talking the difference of 60k total comp in one year to go elsewhere for an MBA offer. No network is worth that as an L9.
A1, look for a bigger bonus this year.
Hopefully
But I'm preparing myself for disappointment.

Are they going to bump manager strategy bands as well?
I'm preparing myself for disappointment and to leave next year.
Pay bands internally haven’t been adjusted yet. These MBA hires haven’t hit the books yet.. Everything will become clear in November, at that point you can have reason to be frustrated. That said, ACN doesn’t care about your MBA and only your level, MBA hires just shows what you should expect at C4 for salary or slightly below

OP - what are you referring to? Levels? Groups?
Are you saying new analysts with an MBA are getting $175k salaries? Where are you getting this from?
MBA hires in strategy are $175 now. Offers from this years offers are the proof — MBA offers are at C3 tho. Not analyst.
Just discoverer your post. I am feeling the same way right now! Are you still at accenture? Did you manage to have a salary adjustment? Any experience sharing would help!
Nope I left, they offered to move me to strategy at C2 pay with no retention bonus. I was very transparent that I needed one to pass up my outside offer. I was frustrated because MBA hires for strat get C3 pay plus a hefty sign on bonus. I had just graduated from a target school that I completed while being an L9 at Accenture and still maintained good reviews while balancing both. I figured best to leave and boomerang in 2 years if I want to come back. Still liked my time at Accenture and would return but was frustrated they wouldn’t offer same to me as they do for a new hire with no experience in the firm or even consulting.
