Recently laid off from a top 10 firm in LA after 7 years in PA. I’d been with the firm since college but now not sure whether i want to try and get back to PA or pivot to private or something else. Is it really that difficult to get hired for a federal job? I was interviewed for a GS12 job but never heard back, they still didn’t hire anyone and I didn’t get a rejection. I applied for another GS07 job, was accepted, I took it, but I believe I can do better. I have a master’s and have extra graduate research experience. I am still applying to new jobs but I was told it is impossible to move up the grade level now. Everyone is telling me to stick with the government. What are your thoughts?

I applied and got a position for aws . I got an offer and asked some questions. I didn't get a reply, from multiple individuals. Two weeks later received a phone call that my recruiter was let go and I was in limbo essentially, they said they'd get in touch with me closer to the timeline we discussed and they were sorry about the mixup. I called back the person to get more information (since I was running errands) and nothing again. No response and no other way to contact this person. Ideas?
