Lol you can stop worrying
Probably depends more on what your role actually is. I've seen places where ACDs were essentially running the agency, but many places, ACDs don't run anything.
If you're in charge of some of creative output, that seems about right. If you're essentially a senior creative (making rather than managing) it's on the high side.
If you're gonna ask for anything, get shares (or fractions of shares).
Depends on market. But 160k seems high for an ACD.
Agree
I’m a CD and making well below that 🙄
The pay in Chicago is generally lower than coastal metros by a considerable dollar figure.
I would bet this is in SF where the going rate for creatives is a bit higher than the norm. 160 for an ACD in SF sounds right.
Working in-house at two bay area tech companies I was making 170-190k base as an ACD. Both were publicly traded, so even more when considering stock and bounses.
You're not far off. And once the company goes public, that equity will be a game changer.
Super helpful thank you 🙏
This is a weird af flex man. Surely you've got to know that you're basically a 1 percenter (in advertising at least). 🙄
Well, good for you OP 🍻
Hit me up if you have any openings coming up. From the sound of it, I'd do pretty well as Group Head/Controller/whatever lol 😂
Working in-house at a big tech company my base is $210k and total compensation counting stocks is around $350-400k (due to the stock going up a lot). I’m wildly overpaid.
Where do you work and how does one get in? Lol.
Obviously won’t be making a huge fuss about this during this climate but never hurts to keep things in check
You’re doing fine.
I’m CD in-house in tech.
If you really wan to make money, go freelance and hustle. You could double your money. Or you could make half. It will be entirely on your shoulders.
If 160 is your base, what’s your total comp?
My stock options are still options (we haven’t IPO’d) so tough to say until the company exits
I am in SF btw
I’m on the agency side in NYC making 160k as well. I don’t think that’s not high, it’s average. But some agencies do lowball people.
Yeah that is dead center of pay range for SF for ACD.
Can I have your job?
About right. Are you an IC or Manager? Bonus? If no bonus, you might be in lower end, but I wouldn’t complain in this environment.
IC until my headcount opens up and no bonus 👀 agreed - not complaining in this environment 🙏
Just remember, the more you cost, the higher up on the lay-off ladder you are.
I ...didn’t ask but thanks? 🤣 we’re good, we’re well funded and as covid proof as it gets 🙌
