After building a successful career in tech sales as an Account Executive and helping lead a successful due diligence company as CEO, I'm now rebuilding my career after a felony conviction. My focus is on the future—bringing my experience, work ethic, and determination to an organization willing to look beyond my past. I'd appreciate any advice or connections as I pursue opportunities in tech sales, account management, and customer success.

I think starting your own business is the best way forward. Les likely for people to know if you’ve had a felony charge. Wish you the best

Thank you! For your kindness I think I am going to look into starting a consultancy.

You will never be trusted with money or assets again. Your best bet is to move into an execution role such as services or consulting (the problem there being partners of any company who would hire you won't want the risk).

The other issue with being a former CEO is that's a position of trust and authority. Why would I ever take that risk with the market as it is and countless other options?

Maybe try one of the reformer firms who specifically take on those with flawed records. You could go into engineering, you'll just never be trusted with security or financial systems access.

What makes you not want to run your own company? Why try to get a pay check instead of build your own?

That's the goal, I am at the point I'm just trying to rebuild. I did it once and I trusted the wrong people, so I'm trying to start over from scratch.

Maybe skip the work ethic part if it matches the rest of your ethics.

Not necessarily do you even know how easy it is for someone to get a felony conviction?

I would love to continue this conversation but I know it's one sided and I'm not trying to convince you. I was just like you previously just be careful with what you know and don't know.

No one is perfect and mistakes can happen.

It really depends on the felony. DUI? Or something else?

Felony it's a conspiracy for fraud. Which if I was able to explain it would be easy to understand why and how ridiculous it is.

Burned out in current role. 10-plus years post-MBA experience in Corp Fin role unable to move up to Director due to lack of "scope" - limited to no opps. Currently, work 40-50 hours week (minimal to no weekends) and earn ~250 TC. Work day is "intense" - many quick turnaround projects from task to task.

Is it worth shopping around? Can I get promo to Director level at another Tech company, earn more and still maintain same level of hours (limited weekend work)? Less intense days possible?
