Does anyone have experience interviewing with Deloitte Internal Services? I had my final interview a week and a half ago, and received positive feedback throughout. The hiring manager had positive things to say and mentioned they hoped to make a decision by the end of last week. It’s now Friday the week after. The role still shows as “Interviews in Process.” We did discuss potential start dates, but no salary. Any experience with receiving offers for an internal services role? Is this common?

Just echoing the MBA tier discussion. If it’s not top 20 (or well known for a niche) it’s not going to make a huge difference in salary in consulting.
At a global strategy firm you’d be very underpaid. If you’re at a small tech consulting firm it wouldn’t be far off, you’d have to consider your impact in terms of revenue billed and work sold. SM level in most firms includes winning work. There’s nothing on a project that an SM does that a manager isn’t expected to also do—the difference is in biz dev.
If you’re successfully selling work, get a job elsewhere as you’re capable of making much more.
Owning projects at an SM level means you’ve negotiated contracts, extensions, among other things. Assuming you’ve done all this?
MBA from where and how many years exp in consulting
I’d be careful thinking your performing at SM level as an SC. Seems like a dangerous attitude that will alienate both upper management and the people who work for you
There is no way to delete or edit the OP. The goal was to find out if $ was right
Are you sure you’re operating at the SM level and not M level? This question from the perspective of someone not at your firm, so trying to be helpful and not snarky
Yes, I have replaced two separate SMs in the same role
Last year and was told my figures are wrong and I should be happy with what I have. I’m at 90k with an MBA and 7 YOE (experienced hire), working at the SM level with an SC title. Up for promo this year. Should I be happy and what do I do to get an adjustment?
90k is on the low end for sc if you’re up for promotion. And if you get promoted with a top rating, you will gain some ground with your raises. With that being said, if you’re looking for a significant jump you should look at moving to a competitor or leverage the new offer with current employer (but be ready to leave if they don’t match).
So... you’re not at a large firm based on what you mentioned. Your MBA is probably not from a highly ranked school - average MBA salaries are published and easily searchable. You’d know you were getting screwed when you took the job if you saw your school average was like $150K.
Most of the consultants on here are from Big 4 or MBB firms which pay at the high end of total consulting firms / come from top 20 MBAs / started out of undergrad.
Your $90K is a bit low for 7 YoE, but how many of them were relevant?
90k is right if you’re in Deloitte advisory
No, Deloitte advisory is separate from Deloitte consulting. Consulting branch has pay bands similar to other big4 advisory
Are you US citizen at US company?
$90k sounds a bit low, but what city are you in? Which MBA? And which firm? 8/10 times you can make more money switching firms.
What is your field/area? How long have you been working with SC title?
Commercial - 2 years
Are you in Advisory ?
Dollar is low. Staff 2s in my practice (1 year exp) make 90k+
Where did you get your mba and what did you do before this job? Numbers are very low would be my first reaction.
Bold move.
