Am I the only person that still thinks applying on LinkedIn or company website gets me way more interviews than connecting with recruiters?

Been interviewing for two months for an in-house position. Is this standard?

What time frame throughout the year do companies recruit and hire the most? Feel like since October hit I’ve seen a downward trend in recruiters reaching out to me.

Had a final round at BCG last Friday. After the interviews they said that the would release results today. Then I got an email today saying they will only give the results on the next Friday. What could have happened?? I also know some people how interviewed on the same day as mine and got a rejection email today.
