Meh. You wouldn't really make more money. And there is a good chance your WLB may still be bad. It is a decent way to get out of consulting or into a decent role in tech without a pay cut, so if you're sick of consulting, take it.
Clearly it’s comparable comp depending on your risk tolerance. Just take it if you think it’ll take you where you want to go.

Cloud now is essentially a 2 1/2 company market.
Amazon.com is a 1 company market.
If anything I want to diversify, and I can’t see these being the long term position

TC in a vacuum probably isnt enough to move- you likely are looking at a ~5% difference either way depending on your pwc bonus.
COL change might be a bigger element- are you leaving for an expensive market? Also are you super excited about closer proximity to tech or just going for the name?

My personal take: Unless you are super passionate about going to tech or had a fantastic offer from AWS I’d pass.
Culture and WLB are notoriously challenging. If you were doing non tech strat I’d just as soon go to another industry role
Ask for more and make some reasons up. We will almost always give you more. I did this and got my offer bumped up 10k
they won’t. they actually lowballed me initially and i said this is insulting and nowhere near the range i initially asked for. they said i’m at the absolute top of the band (literally and shared the top band number). I doubt relocation package can be adjusted as well.
Are you enjoying Pwc so far? The comp doesn’t really seem worth it to me unless you’re current situation isn’t good for some other reasons.
it’s fine… i don’t hate it just annoyed we aren’t selling as much which would probably delay my promo instead of dec to june. work is starting to pick up though. i just don’t know if it’s worth a risk to jump to amazon for virtually zero pay incentive and yes pay is better the first year and maybe second year, but by year 3 and 4 it’s a lot to assume stock price and promo will happen than to make director in 2 years (also a big assumption) or year start of three senior manager (the compensation from year 3 manager and on have small increases going forward (roughly 10 k per level).
What’s your role at PwC? Are you a senior manager?
