Another “founder and ceo” who blames everyone but himself for his own failures. People carrying out your marching orders are in no way responsible your awful leadership John

He's not wrong, his last start up clearly had a fucking terrible chef overseeing operations.

It's him. Hi. He's the problem.

likefunny

If he's like most founders, he hired his clones and/or yes-men, a.k.a. "hiring for cultural fit". The founders who actually succeed are those who hire complementary personalities to shore up their weaknesses, not doppelgangers who double-down on them.

like

That’s the biggest problem in hiring today; they only want people like themselves, and that extends to their looks, and skin tone. They want clones and to come in with a decade of experience for entry level pay. No wonder nothing works out for a penny pincher like that

like

I mean, this may be accurate, but it's 100% on him for hiring people and then not getting rid of them when he realized it wasn't working. #FakeAccountability

like

If his leadership consisted of hiring people and giving them zero ramp and absolutely no training or aligning his vision with their abilities, that’s still on him

like

He said there was no chef, including himself. He is a B or C founder, and he expected an A success.

Talk about delusional

like

Because he chose to write it this way, I'm choosing to believe he sold his actual flesh and blood child. Something tells me I'm not too far base with this one.

funnylike

Just his B and C children. He is still trying for A child though

likefunny

Hmmm? I think this would read better as

“I failed to see how much funding WE would need, I failed in attracting the right co founders, and I failed to inspire those who were gracious enough to entrust their careers in my unprepared and inadequate hands.

I failed, multiple times; but I hope I learned something along the way.”

like

He’s learned nothing, clearly, he just wants to make it seem like he’s still a genius and a visionary when it’s his lack of either quality that results in his failures. Always hire people smarter than you, but remember that experience is expensive

Imagine getting blamed by the CEO for his company's failures when you're getting paid like a "line cook" and he looks like this.

If that's not one of the most punchable faces on Earth, I don't know what is.

Had my virtual on-site for an S&O L3 role 3.5 weeks ago (NYC, 5 YOE). I haven’t heard back on a decision yet, and was wondering how long it typically takes? I also know that I was one of the very first candidates to interview for this specific role, and there are atleast 2 more people scheduled for onsites. Does the recruiter typically wait for all candidates to finish their onsites before communicating a decision? Or if I haven’t heard back yet, it’s probably a reject?

Hi everyone, I have a quick question that’s kind of silly. I work at a pretty small company leading marketing. My title is technically Marketing Lead but I want to put Head of Marketing on my LinkedIn etc. I think of these titles as totally interchangeable—I just like the way the second one reads better. I know titles don’t really matter, but I’m battling a little bit of imposter syndrome.

What does everyone else think?

I woke up today tired.

My work cell was buzzing and then I remembered something.

I forgot to thank the bus driver that dropped me off a few days ago.

I got up and rushed downstairs to find the bus driver.

It was raining outside but I was already running barefoot to the bus stop.

I stood there soaked in my pajamas as the bus approached.

Then, the door opened. The driver got up and shook my hand.

I sat down and started my shift.

I’m the bus driver. Reminder to love and thank yourself.

There really is such a direct correlation between cringey title and cringey posts.

Before LinkedIn...to me, the king of professional cringey was Shingy. Do you guys remember him? He was aol's overpaid "digital prophet" and got paid to visit companies at lunchtime and babble the same kind of nonsense we now call "LinkedIn cringe".
