Take a certificate course or if you are knowledgeable expand on the knowledge you have in your resume. Make sure youre highlighting your transferable skills on your resume. Fast paced, detailed and organized are big ones for CR. What type role are you looking for?

If you're considering transitioning into clinical research from a comparable role—say, overseeing a research laboratory at an academic institution—the transferable skills should align quite well. Proficiency in critical and analytical thinking remains highly sought-after, particularly among those with an academic background, as it primes individuals for success in this field. Skills such as managing competing priorities, succinctly articulating complex issues, fostering collaboration across teams, and providing strategic guidance are all pivotal competencies to highlight. Depending on your career aspirations, stepping into a role as a Project Coordinator/Manager in clinical research offers an excellent starting point to explore the industry, its diverse subfields, and identify where you can make the most meaningful impact. Definitely highlight any additional and related trainings that you have completed that would showcase your interest in clinical research. If you have a highly scientific background, considering a lab-based role - or role that is within a lab-based clinical research organization - might be a good start (e.g. Assay Development, Testing Methodology, Scientific Liaison, and Lab Operations).

I recently got a verbal offer from KPMG strategy. Is that more prestigious than like, most other firms? Like, I know MBB is done with recruiting; I feel like below MBB for name recognition is the Big 4 and other firms aren’t as reputable. Also, I prioritize work culture and exit opportunities over salary, but don’t want to be paid below poverty line.

I honestly don't know what employers are looking for in candidates applying for analytic positions anymore. Although I currently work as a business/data analyst, I'm starting to think I'm actually not one based on the conversations I've had. Thinking of changing careers, since I'm barely making progress in this one and I can't seem to land another opportunity.

Hi all - just joining and looking for some guidance! I am currently in an IT internship position (making pretty solid money considering) and following this summer I will stay on part time during my senior year (discussing a full-time job offer after already). I’m getting my computer science degree, so I would like to do something more technical in the workplace when I graduate. How do I advocate myself for that to my manager without sounding unappreciative of the position I’m in?

Hi all! I recently finished my Masters in Biology. I worked on a few studies with human subjects as well as animal work. I am hoping to get a job in clinical research as either a CRC or CRA. I previously worked at a doctors office as a care manager for 4 years, but outside of my academic work I don’t have experience in research. What advice do you all have for entering the field in my position?
Thanks!!

Hey all! I have recently moved to a full time position wfh as a trial manager. It has been a struggle wfh so I am reconsidering my options. What positions are out there possible for transition for on site, except CRA?

I’m looking to transition from an academic medical center to pharma or a biotech. I have about 8 years of clinical research experience overall — 7 years combined as a CRC (CRC I, CRC II, and senior CRC) and 1 year as a PM. I’m also recently ACRP-CP certified.

I’ve worked with many different industry-sponsors and CROs throughout the years, but many jobs I am applying to require experience at a biotech/CRO/pharma company. Would really appreciate any advice or referrals. Thanks in advance!
