McKinsey & Company Any advice on how to navigate staffing and professional development at McKinsey & Company as an experienced hire? Recently accepted an offer to join McK as an EH but have heard that staffing could be random and it’s likely that you’ll stick with one team or one partner forever if you don’t network your way out. Any advice on this or on pre-onboarding in general is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Have a friendly chat to learn more
Then when you join send an email to tell them you've joined and look forward to working with them. And at least by then during staffing they'll know your name and face and more likely to pull you in

I would not go the LinkedIn / recruiter route before you start… when do you start? What office / any practice alignment? What’s your background and do you want to do more of that work or try something new?
That means that partner will try to staff you right when you start or connect you with someone in their circle if they don’t have a good spot for a new joiner
Did you apply with a referral or cold apply? I found a role at McKinsey I feel I would be a good fit for.
