The competing offer is the same lockstep salary but comes with a nice signing bonus and a guaranteed 15% higher than market annual bonus. Advice for attacking the data room and putting together my first sell-side disclosure schedules? (Baby M&A att’y 2 months in). I have an associate mentor who encourages me to flag items I don’t understand and will walk through them with me, but at this point, the only thing I understand is that I don’t even know what I don’t know and what I do know that I don’t know is basically everything.

First year associate and I may barely hit 1500 this year. Requirement is 2000, though i know first and some second years at my firm don’t hit it.

I am a in a small specialist group who has 2 partners, and they both give me work. One of them said to not worry about my hours (though they do not know how low of a number i’m projected for). Haven’t asked the other.

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. Loan payment question. I have two federal loans. One has no accumulated interest and is ~$110k. One has about $19k of accumulated interest (I previously made an embarrassingly low amount of money), but the total is ~$140k. While the interest is still frozen, do I: 1) make payments on the $110k principal amount only to maximize driving it down; 2) make payments on the $140k principal amount only to maximize driving it down; 3) make payments on the $19k of interest on the $140k loan; or 4) ??
