Being asked by United to switch to a different flight for a travel voucher or miles. They want me to bid for one of the options. I can take the flight 5hrs later. How much should I bid? IAD to DTW
Hi Atlanta fishes, I’m moving to Atlanta in coming months and looking for your advice & recommendations for neighborhood and apartment search prior to in-person visit soon. Background & factors: - Male / single / age 30 (I like city life and going out yet prefer relatively calm place during weekdays than too much exposure to crowd & street noise) – heard ATL midtown isn’t too loud anyways - For monthly rent (1BD or studio), I would prefer $1800~$2000 range but can afford up to ~$2100+ (cont’d)
Dear ACN consultant that talked to me on the bus to DFW, let's grab a drink if you haven't left yet.
Best way to get to San Diego from LAX? Are there any shuttles / shared ride options at all?
Hey ATL fish! Anyone involved with any cool volunteer orgs? I’m looking for one to join so if you know of any good ones please comment below! Thanks!
Is 120k an acceptable salary for Dallas, Texas? I’m taking a pay cut to move there from San Francisco
Anyone have thoughts on Hudson Advisors/Lone Star Funds if you’re in the dfw area? Know anything about working there? Don’t know much about them, if anything at all
The only thing I’m looking forward to at EWR:
My wife has a job opportunity in San Diego. We are thinking about moving from dc. Anyone have thoughts on sd? We have visited a few times, but mostly for touristy things.
I’m sure this has been asked 100 times before but newbie here. Looking for a recommendation on which airline to use as preferred for points/status/etc... ideally flying out of DCA.
Do you have to work at the location listed in the Amazon description? I see a few job posting that I’d be qualified for; however, they’re in different states. I’m in ATL and these are roles in Cali, Seattle, and Washington
Anyone have reward redemption suggestions for DCA->LA/San Diego? I have a mountain of Marriott and UR points
Thinking of switching from delta to American, am I crazy? I fly from LGA as my home airport. But like the American network and find flights are consistently cheaper when I’m searching for personal travel. I normally get silver/gold status depending on the year. Is my American experience going to be good?
Channel Islands LAX -> SFO
Sitting here in SFO airport and the gate agent has organized a paper airplane contest with 15 people or so. The Prize is a free drink on the plane
Help train an algorithm to map the sea floor. Thought I would share. Also seems like a great opportunity for kids to learn, have fun, and make an impact. https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/05/nasa-science-coral-oceans-floor-explore-civilians-exploration
Any gay male fishies in San Diego?
Any site that lets you find the best rate available to you for refinancing student loans? Showing all rates for different providers? As opposed to applying to each one individually?
How do you cope with work in early pregnancy and exhaustion? I don’t have lots of common pregnancy symptoms except cramps and fatigue. The exhaustion is on high today!!! Yawning through my zoom meetings and it’s only 11am here on the west coast. I’m also a team lead so I need to be present on meetings. I don’t know how to cope lol. I slept a lot through the holidays but now I’m back at work. I even overslept for my 8am meeting today 😫😂.
My lovely wife got me a bottle of Talisker 18 for my first Father’s Day. I’ve always loved the 10 year, but first impressions of the 18 are superb.
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Any idea what the average compensation is for a Non-sales associate with 15 years experience and a CFP (large city)...
Thoughts on getting a MS in Systems Engineering? Is it still relevant/competitive against a MS in Comp Sci/Data Science for Product Management/Startup roles? What exactly can you do with it? Assuming a top program.
I get nervous when I have to communicate project status in huge conference calls. Any tips?
A client runs an outplacement firm. EY said the PPEDD separation list is imminent and that there will be broad cuts at all levels beginning in July to reflect past, current, and future business conditions. Other B4’s are expected as well.
When you work from home and set the alarm for 9AM and consider that "sleeping in"... I feel old.
Got an offer with Microsoft for L60 recruiter.Any idea on the salary ranges for the same and also around the work culture. Will help in my decision making.
How are m&a divisions in tech companies? Like Microsoft google etc.? How’s the culture? Anyone has any insights?
EY vs ACN. Having a difficult time knowing is I should leave EY for a comparable position. Anything you would have wanted to know before joining ACN leaving EY? TIA.
Ladies, looking for advice on when to tell job that I’m expecting. I am due early November. I’m on the bench, so being considered for multiple rolls. I’d start and then have to go on leave 2-3 months later. Any advice? Are there any specific rules? I was thinking of telling HR 30days out to start leave conversation. TIA!
Mamas, have you asked for a roll off or less responsibilities on your current project due to pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness? My client is so critical and demanding it’s caused me to have stress hives and panic attacks. I don’t think I can do my role well pregnant and don’t want the stress to cause the baby harm.
How can I set the stage this year to negotiate a lower billable hours expectation instead of a raise? As a woman I'm hesitant to be open about my reason: I want more time at home with my kids. I lateraled to this firm a year ago for WLB and they are indeed flexible on WFH which helps. Salary is a bit below average for mid-size firms like mine in my area, and I didn't get a raise or bonus this year because I didn't hit the billable target (1900). Ideally I'd keep my salary but go to 1600 hours.
