Log in to PLI and watch programs on different M&A topics. Maybe start with one that focuses on the difference between an APA, SPA and merger agreement. Then watch one that focuses on the importance of due diligence.
I have found that to be more helpful than most books out there.

I think every biglaw firm (or at least most of them) has a subscription that their associates can use for free. Reach out to your firm's library/research department to request access. I use my Westlaw login to access PLI.
