Hi Fishes, I've 2.25 Years of experience in SAP Basis, but I've lost interest in the same due to not receiving proper training, inability to practice on customer's system and shifts. I'm looking forward to go for MBA/changing technology, which one would be a better option? I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

What does it mean if there’s a NEP at the firm who’s been there for a long time (20+ years), but never got promoted to EP? Never held leadership roles too. Does it usually mean EPs does not like the NEP enough to get promoted?

What is the best firm in NY for an associate interested in international tax planning (inbound and outbound), M&A, and transfer pricing?

Has anyone dealt with stuffing allocation in a non-hedge fund context? It seems even in the HF world the law is fuzzy in using aggregate reverse 704c principles in stuffing allocations. Like, sure, the market is there but no authority really blessed it (other than some Cravath partner’s article in Tax Notes in 2013). If we are talking asset class that isn’t really like marketable securities but might be able to treat it similarly solely by virtue of, say, valuation on a quarterly basis (contd)

Hi all! I’m applying to NYU tax llm and I’m pretty confident I can get in,but it’s unlikely I’ll receive a scholarship. I’m working at a non big4 consulting firm for about 1.5yrs now, doing mainly international with some M&A exposure. I want to do llm because I still want to shoot for biglaw. I have a small kid so it’ll be hard to do the program part time. Should I quit my current job and enroll full time? Meaning lose 1yr salary and taking on a job security risk. TIA!
