Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
I love this group. For those that receive company equity as part of their comp, what’s your strategy? Do you immediately sell it all and put the cash into index funds?
Left Big 4 to work at a local firm & I don’t like it. Thinking about leaving before busy season to give them time to hire a new person but I’m worried about how I’ll look leaving so quickly. Thoughts?

SM’s - how easy or hard was it to exit into industry at Sr director or VP roles. Did you see a big jump in your Salary + Perks?
Fish, need advice. I received an offer $5k less than the lowest number in the salary range I provided the recruiter. Isn’t the rule of thumb to not move for less than a 30% salary increase?
I am in the process of negotiating an offer for a new job. At my current job, bonuses will be paid out on august 20th. The bonus is sizable so I would like to stay long enough to obtain it. Ideally, I would wait until the bonus hits my account before I put in my 2 weeks. If the new job wants me to start sooner than august 20th, is it acceptable to say that I want to stay because of the bonus, or should I give a different reason? Is it a bad look if I say I want to stay for the bonus?
What is the going rate for a recently promoted tax S1 non specialty practice, looking to jump ship at big 4? HCOL Northeast.
If you moved to NYC in your 20s, did you follow the 30% of salary as max for rent? How much did you end up paying for your space? I’m thinking of moving there next year.
Fishes two questions, what will be senior associate salary at Strategy&, glassdoor suggests 54k, is that correct or higher in cases? Also, what would be the average room rent (1shared room in a flat) near SE1 or within 30-45mins of travel time? Relocating from EU and not sure if it makes any financial sense.
Expecting an offer from a tech company in SF. I joined my current firm less than year ago and if I leave I have a clawback on my bonus. I had a relo bonus $15K and a sign on $10K.
Anyone know how what the salary range is like for senior analyst for paid search at Edelman?
Does making mgr (starting straight out of college in consulting) at big 4 help open up exit opps? If so, what kind?
23 years old, $0 in debt, $71k cash in the bank, $12.4K invested in the stock market and working Big 4 making 76.2k a year. Currently invested in VOO, VOOG, BRK.B, and MSFT (ROTH IRA & Individual Brokerage A/Cs). Should I be investing more heavily with all the cash I’ve saved up; I’m a little worried about the market volatility, but also I’m 23 so want to cash in on compounding interest.
How does someone ask to be rolled off a project and what are ways to provide feedback to their experience even if it’s negative?
I currently live in NY and work for Amazon. I get paid weekly. I make about $910 a week. Here’s my check breakdown. I just feel as tho taxes are too much. $300 a week?! Is this really right? Or is there something I can do? My tax returns is usually just 3k. I also feel like that’s wrong. I really want to up my 401k distribution but idk. BG : Single , no kids.
Did any US citizens move successfully to Europe? I have a medical thing, as a freelancer I can’t afford healthcare here, and I’m afraid I will become broke and homeless living in NYC. I want a better quality of life, and to just live while I still have time...
gender equality is great and all but god dammit what i wouldn't do to have the first day of my period off from work.
I have been searching for job from quite a long time and all I have seeing HR/Panels asking for 1. Number of implementation projects done. 2. Work experience on S4 Hana. And if I don't have atleast any one of these, I will not be considered. Is it really that important ? Being joined as a fresher - Is it really something that I can decide whether to be in support or implementation project ? Is upgrading of ECC to S4 Hana in my hands ? And the difference is really that vast ?
Has anyone at Ropes and Gray missed a time entry deadline and get their bonus reduced because of it? I've definately missed some time entry deadlines this year, and I'm concerned that they'll reduce my bonus. I've missed it in other years and mg bonus was not reduced.
Anyone go through intense anxiety (shaking legs, sweaty palms)? I’ve been facing that for two years and feel intense pressure of smallest of tasks and lack of self worth about not getting a promotion
Not a points question, but what are some top resorts in the South? Need to find someplace to get away with the Mrs (sans kids) for a few nights when this all blows over.
There is an echo when I speak on calls due to my home office being relatively empty. I added a carpet but hasn’t made as big an impact as I would like. Any tips
Have a little less than 1YOE at my firm (started in Sept) - is it a bad idea to apply now or should I wait to the 1YOE mark? Would it be a bad idea to cold apply? Don't want to miss out entirely on the hiring spree but also worried about being dinged due to relatively little experience. I don't have a lot of connections at the firms but can probably pull together a referral in the next few months with some networking.
For an RPA Developer job (UiPath) I must minimum have associate and UiARD? I’m currently at b4 and want to go to Accenture or big tech Any advice on certs/experiences is helpful.
Was reading an info article I received about "Reading Progress." I am copying the lead sentence from Monica Burn's June 21, 2021 article for you, but I really want to know if anyone is using this app. "Reading Progress is a new, free app built right into Microsoft Teams." It looks good to me on the surface for ALL teachers and is time efficient! Any thoughts?
What tech you would recommend for WFH. For me it is a second 4k monitor, extra wireless keyboard and a Busy light so that I dont get bothered when on calls/mettings (Embrava Blynclight)
