Your son should probably take control of his career at some point
As a parent one can help without taking control. Yes it’s a delicate balance knowing your words can have great impact on them. I mostly support him in his decisions and try to get information when I can.

He’s better off. And if he’s going to make 2x at the other place, what’s the issue?
I appreciate hearing that. Thanks
2x is a big difference. It’s about double the pay.
Bird in the hand…. Although I respect his hutzpah… that comes from having low overhead. Save your money, keep your monthly nut low …. makes it easier to hold out for better.
What's oppy
short for "opportunity"
The "recruiters" consist of the head of HR and sometimes the office manager / executive assistant. With entry-level sales there, they aren't super flexible. For example, if a call or interview needed to be rescheduled, even with plenty of notice, they would just stop right there and move on to the next candidate. It's a pretty small team and the had of sales works directly with most of them. Seems like really great training, probably great experience for your next position, but the process there is cold-calling shipping managers at small-ish companies. They are usually really busy, often don't speak english as Mothership targets a lot of chinese importers in the LA area, and the targets are often even more rude/crass/vulgar than most in outbound sales.
