Practicing 11 years at larger regional firm. Experience is L&E, complex commercial litigation, products, contract disputes, trade secret litigation (really varied on the litigation side). What types of in-house positions might I be qualified for? Considering a switch.

Anything in L&E, litigation, if you want to move out of law altogether there’s compliance or Employee Relations, or even investigations. Should be very easy to pivot with your background

For those who moved from a client serving role to an internal role in public accounting while at a fairly high level (experienced manager or senior manager), did you take a pay cut or does your pay stay flat when you transition with minimal increases in subsequent years? Also what role are you in now? I really like EY and the company. I’d like to look at moving to an internal role but I’m worried I’ve priced myself out (currently at around 140k comp in LCOL).

Hi folks, I am looking for help with a career pivot. I am currently a startup founder looking to get into an early-stage high-growth tech startup in London and would love to guidance on where to start.

My current startup, although we have seen some success has not found the momentum required. I would love to take all of the energy and skills I have acquired to help grow another interesting high-growth startup, ideally under 10 people that would give me skin in the game. Where to start?

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? The division I’m currently in seems like there are no good opportunities, and I have the funds available to finish my undergraduate full time (Canada). I'm not necessarily unhappy with the firm I'm at, but have started looking into in house opportunities, as I've seen some interesting openings. I understand this will likely come with a pay cut (perhaps in exchange for a better work/life balance....tbd), but does anyone have any thoughts on other considerations/questions I should be thinking about/asking? Thank you in advance!

Is a 3 week notice enough? Do I let this opportunity go and just hope something will line up down the road ? Thoughts ?

I took a product management course this year and it felt really good and different from the day to day of Talent Acquisition but I couldn’t help but wonder if it was the wrong time for this considering the state of tech. Does anyone ever question the possibility of going to law school?

I’m a 23yo female legal assistant working/living in Canada. I am completing my BA in hopes of continuing with law school after. But, I just turned 23 and I’m anxious about my love life and starting a family. I haven’t had a boyfriend since 2019 and I’ve poured my heart and soul into my education & career.

I’ve always wanted to go to law school since age 14. But I also want a husband/kids. I don’t feel like I can have both.

So I’m gonna assume that most of us in L&E are in it for the passion, otherwise we would have taken corporate commercial or M&A for the money.
So… where do you see your ‘ultimate resting spot’? Would it be 1) global head of L&E law at a big company, having to always be under the global GC, or 2) just collect enough experience to take the GC route? This of course has way more money, but work with stuff that doesn’t excite you as much, or 3)…?
