Accepted job offer with higher salary, but after cost of living adjustment it’s turning out to not be a raise…struggling with this now. How bad would it be to rescind my acceptance?

I know this isn’t a marriage therapy bowl, but my husband has a really terrible tendency of saying things like “you’re being really mean” and completely shutting down during a disagreement when i objectively am not being mean, just truthful or vocal about how i feel about something. Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

I am a career changer on mo 4 of a 6 mo sourcer/researcher contract that I’m not sure will be renewed due to team re-organizing. I am looking for a perm, remote HR generalist or program manager position and getting no traction despite a well-reviewed resume. What do I do? Should I go to grad school?

I had reached out to them to ask if they had completed by background check since I couldnt see the process. They had said "it was completed and I should get an email confirmation". Nothing from them. Question on entering consulting. Worked for a non-profit for six years, entered healthcare tech last year as a CSM, and just got an offer from a life sciences consulting firm. My hope is to eventually get into more broad strategy consulting (MBB or big 4, have connections at both). Would working at a more boutique firm limit or help in the long run? I don’t want to be in life sciences forever but figured it could be a good launchpad into consulting. I’m 30 so not old, but also not young.
