Depends if you wanna be technical or policy type work. The CISSP is a good cert but is managerial and not technical. I’ve been interviewing with b4 for a past couple weeks and have avoided positions mentioning anything RMF related because as a techie that type of work will be miserable to me. And what Ive seen on this app is that ppl in those roles are trying to pivot into more technical cyber roles but dont have the technical exp. to be competitive in more technical positions since they lack exposure to SIEMs, log reading, attack vector threats, etc. To me, it seems like they throw any and everybody into auditing roles because all it is checking boxes which anyone can do.
The cissp was probably a good starter for you to get exposed to different security specialities so try to narrow down what you’d like to do and try to upskill yourself with more certs and try to get hands on exp with security tools/controls.
