When I was in college, I thought all my life’s problem would be solved if I ever made $150,000.

Ahh… to be young and dumb

You can met out a really comfortable life for a family of 4 on $150k in the vast vast vast majority of the US.

No…. $150k is still in the 80th percentile for HHI.

We have this debate every week where highly-paid consultants gather and convince ourselves that being amongst the top earners in the country just isn’t what it used to be.

It’s proof positive that our jobs breed a really strange disconnection from reality.

If you kept your costs the same you would have been right

I totally remember believing that if I made $150K per year, I would be in such a good place financially, but man, having the life I want costs a lot, and I don’t spend on super expensive stuff. But those Amazon purchases add up quickly!

like

Sounds like you’re still young and dumb enough to let your own lifestyle creep distort your perspective this badly.

lol

150k is sweet spot IMO (at least in corporate world). Stress goes up a lot after that level.

I make 150k and when I got this increase last year I was so happy I couldn’t believe it and for a few months I was content with it. Now I’m looking for more. I think I make decent money. It’s just human nature always looking for more and once you get it you keep looking for even more.

mo money mo problems

How much you need?
