Is it possible to switch jobs when H1B is in process?. I am in the final stages of interviewing for a FANG role. However, a bit anxious that I might not be able to join very soon. For context, my H1B was picked in the second lottery and was filed on 25th Sept. Are companies known to make adjustments to start dates?

My current H1B status lasts until 01/2025 while my 6 year period ends in 08/2025 because I transferred and extended my H1B through my second job early this year.
If I can begin the GC process (probably EB-2, RoW) sometime next year but don’t get it completed by 01/2025 and need to extend my H1B, can I still extend my H1B period through 08/2025 to fully use the 6 years closer to 01/2025?
