Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

Nope. I’d be a bit hesitant if it was making new work. If it was just presenting a piece of work in my book like I was presenting a pitch I’d understand.
Sorry they don’t want new work - they’ve said I can present something existing. It’s just to see how I present.
Yup. I hate the idea. Decided not to pursue it once as it wasn’t worth it. Did the other time because it was. I might again if it was high level thought and the job was amazing. But it would have to be an amazing gig and not steal a lot of design time away
Seems like this is what portfolios, resumes and interviews are for. Anything else is a waste of time unless they are willing to pay your rate for your time.
Sounds increasingly common
it’s common - especially if they don’t want new work from you.
Just seeing how you will present work and if you can stay out of the weeds
Yeah I have recently. They wanted me to come in and work on a project with their art director to see how we worked together. They didn’t mention pay. I asked what the compensation would be like, and said that I could only do a weekend because I was working full time elsewhere. Never heard back ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Facebook had me do it. I feel like every chance to present is just practice. Who cares if it takes a couple hours to put the presentation together.
