Anyone else exited from traditional litigation to do contract work? I’m currently a BigLaw associate attorney who is considering project contract work with Paragon for the work life balance. I would love to hear from anyone who has taken this path before and bonus points if you’ve worked for Paragon. Thanks!

Anyone hear of a patent attorney going to an investment bank, hedge fund, or venture capital firm?? Considering a change. Thought I could use my skills to help investors analyze and valuate companies.

I know that some other associates at my level are approximately 30% behind other associates in hours on a month to month basis. Yet all of these associates say they are “at capacity”, and myself and another associate still end up being assigned work instead of them. How do we handle this? For reference, all associates are around the firms minimum requirement, it’s just that a few of us are 30+% over and it is leading to burnout.
