Which office? Experiences vary greatly based on location..
Agree with this
I’ve been at MDD for a bit. It’s been my first accounting job. Not sure about other offices but this is my take on the office I work in.
Pros:
Rather Flexible work schedule.
Not alot of overtime in general. Can be project dependent. I’ve only been asked to work a weekend twice maybe. Weekly billable ask is around 35hrs. It’s more important to have your work done when it is needed.
You do get paid for OT quarterly if you meet a certain threshold of billable hours.
I started with 15 days PTO and 1 week sick pay. You can roll over 40 hours PTO at the end of the year. The rest gets paid out.
The partner in my office is solid along with the manager.
Work is not super challenging once you get it which could also be a con. You get to peek into different industries depending on the types of projects you are on.
Cons:
Pay and compensation are on the low end for sure especially for lower levels. Only been through one partial year review cycle so I cannot speak on this personally as of yet but from what I have been told by more senior people is that it tends to be underwhelming
It has been described to me as a stepping stone and not a place to hang around.
Overall I like being here and if the pay/compensation were better I would consider staying long term and not continue to take interviews and entertain other opportunities.
Feel free to DM if you have more specific questions.
