McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Find a position on usajobs and apply. As long as you have the qualifications ( listed for every job) you have a chance. Make sure to write a fed resume they are different.

On the pay, maybe now it’s about the same as PA, but in PA it increases exponentially as you get higher, vs fed government does not. If you search federal pay, you’ll see what your potential boss is making and their boss. Even executives in fed agencies sometimes do not make it much higher than $200k
Yes, so true
I want to make the transition to. I was just hesitant because I was thinking I am not qualified. Nevertheless, I will give it a try next year.
I'm likely gonna make the transition too, it's way more chill and the benefits can be pretty good for state government jobs. The resume is pretty different though so important to bear that in mind
If you don’t meet any of the special hiring categories (vet, spouse, schedule A,etc) it will probably take a while to get an interview. And that will be even more true if you are applying for higher grades. Those people get preference. So while you may be qualified they may only actually interview those individuals who also qualify.
If you are applying off the street with no special hiring path then it’s almost a numbers game. Also, being qualified and referred doesn’t mean you will be contacted for an interview. Just keep applying until you actually have an official start date.
One of my friends did that actually. She really loves what she does now and she gets paid wayyyyy more.
If you want experience with the federal sector before, let me know. We always have a need for more people in our federal audit group.
