I’ve had my eye on a “Delivery Transformation Change and Communications Consultant” position at Deloitte. Does anyone work here that could give some insight into this position/department or one like it? And is there anyone who has worked in marketing and shifted to communications/consulting…what are your thoughts on a career shift?

No
I was an intern at 28, and don’t regret it!
No, not at all. But realistically, you have to be prepared to be humble and feel like you’re 23 again. That can suck if you’re accustomed to making a good salary and having confidence in yourself at work. On the other hand, you will most likely progress faster than your peers just because of professional experience. If first half of that is not a concern, then he absolutely should do it.
Never too old. Think of it this way, he’s only getting older so if he wants to make a change there’s no time like the present.
People are living into their 80s and 90s and retiring later and later it’s not our grandparents career path anymore. The world is coming at us much faster and there’s much more change!
No! I made a switch at 29 (from journalism to marketing so not too much of a stretch) my husband made a much more dramatic switch at 27.
No time like the present!
