Something I might take kind of hard at first, but honestly sometimes being a person on the outside, they can see more than you can. I’d try to focus on it being a complement that I could put my strengths and skills into something else that I’m better suited for.

I did actually see it being a compliment. Thank you for the insight!
I don't think that I would be offended by it. It shows that the manager cares enough to make sure I'm with the best team possible.

I didn’t take any offense to it. I saw it as a way to best optimize my strengths without them being totally wasted. I agree 100% with you! Thank you for the insight!
This happened to me last year and I was offended because I was one of the top performers on the team and I thought that she was trying to get rid of me. In the end, she was right. I'm a much better fit on my new team.

I’m glad you finally saw it as a positive. Thank you for your insight on this!
I discuss these things with my teams in their 1:1's. I would rather retain good talent within the organization than to see them go to a different company. We also offer bubble assignments so people can try new things. Sometimes they move into a new department, sometimes they find that it's really not what they thought it might be. Our company is fantastic with supporting people who really want to learn.
