Anyone have a preference over blade or mallet putters? Have a blade at the moment but thinking about changing due to the weight distribution of the mallet.

I had a blade for almost 20 years (started young) before making the switch to mallet. I was never a great putter but improved after the switch. For me it is easier to keep the line with the mallet. It’s not like a real green but spend some time at a golf store trying out different types. I think I spent a good hour trying different putters before getting mine.

Exactly what I’ve heard and read re easier to keep in line.

I became a believer in mallet-style after switching last year, biggest difference is in putts 6 feet and closer, they stay much more on line than with a blade

I suggest trying out all kinds and see what works best. It all has to do with the amount of arc your putting style generates and that dictates the type of putter.

Not totally a mallet but I really enjoy the Odyssey double-wide triple track

I went from mallet to blade. I think it’s really all about feel and what makes you feel confident.

I’ve mostly been mallet but switched to a blade that I’ve had some success with. I’d try the mallet and see what it does for you.

Thanks for the input everyone! Good to hear different experiences, sounds like I need to just give the mallet a try and see if it suits.

Find a place that does putter fittings and get fit. Don’t buy a putter that won’t fit your game. Weight, loft, swing path, etc can all impact your putting. I spent years buying new putters and buying something that fits my stroke has made a massive difference

What are peoples opinions on work from home? It seems to be an unpopular opinion but as a junior I despise it. I work 3 feet from my bed, I find the barriers of a phone/email between me and a senior to add a huge amount of stress to my life and I think it’s stunting my career development at my firm because I can’t build relationships as effectively. I’ve never at all had mental health issues before but now am really starting to feel burnt out and anxious most of the time. What do you think?
