McKinsey & Company I did my final round with McKinsey today, and I I received a rejection call from the partner today. However, he said I did really great and wants to keep in touch with me. He also mentioned that I should reapply in 6 months. Does anyone have any similar experience? Do I have a better chance if I reapply next time?McKinsey & Company

Is the recruiter still with BCG? It sounds like an IT issue TBH. Could you email any other recruiting email to see if it happens again?
They are still with BCG. I did contact a recruiter from a different office after my apparent block without any issues, so you might be right about it being an IT issue
How do you know it’s been blocked?
What exactly did your email say?
It said “message blocked” and the error code referenced “administrative prohibition”
As hungry as MBB recruiters are, if you pulled this off… I am impressed.
Haha I know right. I showed people within the firm our email chain, and they’re stunned that she’d block me. I honestly just thanked them for the interview opportunity and asked for feedback/cool down period
If you were blocked there’s no way that was the reason. We provide feedback on interviews all the time, and standard cooling off period is 12 months. If we really liked you it could be shorter. You definitely did something else if you were blackballed… and honestly I don’t think you can get blocked by just one office. If you ticked off one recruiter that badly, you’re probably tanked everywhere.
BCG gives feedback? I’ve never once heard about MBA or ADC candidates getting feedback after unsuccessful interviews.
Sounds unprofessional on behalf of the recruiter . I don’t think you can conclude that you are blocked. Getting to the last round should definitely entitle you to a specific feedback. Most likely you can apply again in 18 months. Feel free to send a message to a partner who interviewed you sharing the details of your interaction with the recruiter, and asking for the feedback while using usual how much you enjoyed the process and looking forward to grow and apply again. BCG likes personal growth stories.
