After many years of doing purely corporate law, I recently moved inhouse to do structured finance. Honestly, I am in unknown territories. My boss also not patient about my re-learning process yet they knew from the interview that I know close to nothing about structured finance. I am 2 months into my 6 months probation period and I am worried that I might have bit more than I can chew. FYI - I am doing all I need to do to learn (books) but still struggling. Any pointers on how to get it faster.

I’m thinking of starting a podcast interviewing leaders at startups about their experience with specific challenges - I know, cliche, get a more original hobby, etc.

Not looking for the narrative arc of How I Built This or Masters of Scale. Instead, looking to uncover specific problems faced by companies that tried something new for the first time. What did they not see coming, how did they adapt and measure, etc.

What are your thoughts on this format?

How long does it take between a second interview and a job offer? What the norm?

How long should I wait between followups? Had a really good interview and sent my thank yous, but it’s been about a week.

EY FAAS, are you expected to participate in Bus dev efforts and win work as a senior? Also are you solo or have a team/ mentors to work on engagements with? had only 20mins interview, no time for questions. Lol

Pretty new here! Great news ..JOB offer …however the company is lowballing salary ..I informed recruiter Amount was not acceptable …sent off the salary requirement letter …. Wondering if anyone can share the approximate timeline after applying to Target Corp. to hearing something from them. Applied 9/1 and on the applicant portal the status still says “in progress.” I got a great internal referral, but I’ve not reached out to the hiring manager. 😬 I know there were a few hundred applicants — what’s a realistic timeline and what could I say to the hiring manager if I reach out to them. I passed my RHIT exam a month ago, and I’ve been applying to jobs in state, out of state, and remotely to only receive “sorry you were not selected email.”I don’t have experience and I know that’s the reason I’m not getting selected. I’ve applied for receptionist, medical biller/coordinator, and medical clerk. Even with inflation willing to work for minimum wage or less just to gain experience.

I have given interview to TCS on 28th September, after 2 days got a mail saying that to upload documents I have done that. Today I got a call saying that from TCS and asked me, have you attended any interview I said yes and also said documents uploaded. Then she asked me there is a need in direct project are you okay with technical round and I said yes. Then she said thanks and disconnected.

I attended the interview in cognizant. But i didn't get any feedback of my interview. So, what should I do? Also, I dropped the Mails to recruiter. They did not reply on that.

Quick one, Is it okay to always ask for time to collect thoughts before answering questions during case interviews or should we shoot from the hip? I stutter naturally so speaking without a bit of time to collect thoughts can be hard.

I applied to an experienced consultant position at Bain and just heard back. Yesterday, I received an invite to a HireVue one-way interview to complete. Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes. Worst luck ever. My group was very slow from Jan through may, so I won’t hit my hours, but am now (and will continue to be) very busy…. About to do 1990 hrs the most painful way possible. Fml.

Maybe a stupid question, but I’ve come across a few job postings I qualify for based on job responsibilities since 90% are similar to my current ones. BUT an MBA is required and I don’t have one. Is there any point in applying?

For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start.

But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume.

Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.
