I have, as well others I know well and couldn't be happier. It is what I needed to have the flexibility, no travel, etc. in the long run I might make less but I know I have the option of going back when my kids aren't as little. I know there is a lot of negativity right now on FB but if this is something you are considering talk to your coach. A few other options is to do a rotation in an IFS area and/or work on a reinvest initiative. See what else is out there. You might be surprised how many of us there are in IFS that made the choice to not be consumed with consulting/pay and needed to take a step back to have the right balance.
Why would you want to do that? Some groups may offer a rotation within campus recruiting/HR. I know of many former assurance associates that jumped into IFS
What would you do in IFS?
Thank you P3
I did a rotation in IFS and it was amazing in terms of work/life balance and flexibility. I can say that you can end up working just as many hours in IFS but the sense of urgency is a bit different. Also, I built so many key relationships that actually helped me advance farther when I went back to client service. I did start feeling a bit bored after a while but probably due to the rotation I chose. Make sure you pick something where you can keep growing and that isn't too cyclical if you need that for mental engagement. Don't discount IFS if you need a change for your family. I'd try a rotation first if I were you. Keeps your salary in tact and you can try it out to see if it's for you, and then if so find another opportunity.
