Anyone made the jump from agency to freelance PM and can live to tell about it? I want the highs and the lows. I’ve been seriously considering it more and more, but need to know the truth about what to expect. More than anything, I want to be remote and be able to make my own schedule. Any pointers on how to get started? I’d love to do a budget exercise as well, to see how to make it all work—but I know it’s very unpredictable. Any tips/tricks are appreciated!
Interested in a few BA openings at Capital One. Anyone willing to chat and write a referral? Also can I get some likes to unlock the dm function? Thanks everyone!
COVID WFH has put me several time zones away from my client (I’m further west and their culture is to start the day early anyway). It’s a new project so I don’t have relationships built up. How much pushback on morning meetings is reasonable? I know the project can’t operate totally around me but these start times aren’t sustainable...
What's the best level to make move to industry that will be an increase in responsibility...manager, sr mgr?? I'm seeing a lot of folks thinking they can move to a directors position after 2 years...

Anyone having any idea behind American Express's mass hiring for product and marketing role? American Express
Is this an acceptable out-of-office reply? “Thank you for your email. I am currently “in the office” (WFH, not PTO), but I am urgently occupied in observance of CyberMonday. I will respond to your email as soon as I close these deals. If you need urgent assistance, please contact one of my more responsible colleagues, or a competing firm. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
For people at remote-first companies (I’m in industry, not deloitte anymore), how do you feel about optional in-person events for employees that live close to the optional office? Especially wondering about the feelings of people who chose to live in a different city, and therefore can’t attend.
Is it bad if I apply to several positions at a company? The referral I said that it probably hurt my chances in the application process. I want to increase my chances.
Friends - Is any company hiring? Considering H1B transfer? I have total only 28 months left on my visa? Doesn’t look like the firm is going to sponsor green card. I have been performing well in my department no negative reviews in 4 years yet HR denied to file GC. Apparently they are only considering Managers for GC. Is this the same situation in Big 4 Audit? Please comment.
Research: What’s the stance taken by your PE firm on work from home vs coming to the office?
Just passed my CISSP on my third attempt!! Took over a year of studying and two bootcamps to finally accomplish this goal. The pressure of everyone knowing I was at a bootcamp both times and (cont.)
Amazon seems to be hiring for a lot of accounting positions in the DMV area for their HQ2. Anyone have any opinions on the exit-ops, W/L balance, comparisons to B4/busy seasons, compensations etc.? Audit M1 here.
Hi folks, I got an offer from an investment bank with around 30% bump in the base comp. My current firm has already filed my green card and I am currently waiting for I-140 approval. I have three years left on my H1B. The new firm will fie green after one year of employment. Should I make the move or wait for I-140 approval and reject the offer?
Why do the big four keep hiring college students aggressively then fire them after a year for having low utilization. Why not just hire the amount you can actually staff
I already am a CFP, now thinking about getting the RICP. Who has it? What's the study time required?
In light of the recent enquiries here about switching from H1b to L1 to cut the backlog queue (cont'd)
Currently work at a national firm (BDO, RSM, GT) and have an offer from a Big four with a similar comp. Ive been thinking about it for a few days but cant seem to make the decision. Would appreciate any advice you can give or pros and cons. TIA.
401k rollover question — has anyone rolled over their 401k to their Roth IRA instead of a traditional IRA. or new company 401k? Can you explain your strategy here?
I’m only 2-3 years into my career and I feel like f*cking toilet paper — just spent a week of my life busting ass/working OT on a reduced salary (thanks COVID, love ya 😘) “designing” PPT presentations for clients I’ve never met. I know that’s normal, but it would be nice to know the ppl who constantly tell you to “jazz it up”... I’m just really, really questioning what I’m doing in advertising. I feel like I have absolutely no point right now and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change.
Anyone seriously considering a permanent remote work situation and move out of Chicago after Covid? How do you go about it with your Manager/company? Do you keep your Chicago salary or is a move put things in question?
Best place to stay in Singapore? “Bonvoy” lifetime status so prefer those. I like to swim and the Westin and St. Regis have pools but could pass those up if the Ritz, JW, or others are worth it
I’m a business analyst in financial services with 1 yr of BA experience and 3 years of overall experience. I’m looking to start applying/ transition to a new company (preferably in tech) spring 2022. BA roles and qualifications really vary across companies. Any recommendations on certain skills that a young BA should definitely have for a competitive resume? I feel that I may lack some tech skills so curious to hear from you all. Thank you!
I have just completed my first of 12 CIMA exams and I can’t seem to motivate myself to study at the expense of my side hustle when I don’t see myself in Consulting long term. I know I will gain some valuable lessons from CIMA for future ventures but it is a 3 year qualification alongside a demanding job with minimal downtime. Should I try and qualify or focus on saving money and my side hustles? Also, do I need to qualify to work as a consultant in Big 4 or can I opt not to sit exams?
Hi all! Curious if anyone has insight into the first round interview with team manager at Google (post recruiter screen). It’s for a biz ops role and the recruiter said the call would be just behavioral. Wondering if anyone got case/problem solving questions in the first round or if those were for the final round. Trying to figure out best way to allocate preparation time. Many thanks 🙏🏻
How do the few firms remaining in the AmLaw100 that have not matched market base compensation or bonuses justify not doing so at this point for at least the traditional NY/CA/DC offices?
