Bain & Company Fishes, I wonder if you have suggestion on office selection, I am finishing my dual degree(advanced degree and applying for post MBA level job) next year and now applying for consulting roles in the states. I have never been to the states and will only arrive on campus in Fall. I am keen on Seattle and SF offices but I have no affiliation or experience there. Any suggestions? I asked a few co-workers the same question last week. They all agreed - 1 yoe expectation are M to SM; 2 yoe expectation is SM to D. Also noted that it’s company dependent.
A SM at my company is ~12 YOE with a graduate degree.

Many MBA grads (experienced hires) join T2 as a Senior Consultant. Max hire level for typical MBAs with 1 year post MBA experience may be a Manager level, but most likely a Senior Consultant level.

At my F50 industry firm, you'd be looking at M at best (likely senior associate), assuming you have the typical 5-7 YOE for someone in your position.
Lmao what. You’d get the same role. Unless you’re going to industry.
Sorry should have clarified! Meant industry, not another firm
Unless you have like 8 more years of experience before your MBA, there’s absolutely no chance you jump from a new SA to a SM position. You might be able to exit into a Manager role in industry though.
No. Most SM’s at my company have around 10yrs. How much is your total YOE? And an MBA may offset some of it it at some companies. But a lot want to years and the MBA
I’ve got about a total 9-10 YOE
