It's always been a dream of mine to work at Google, specifically as a UX designer (currently transitioning into UX from visual design). I've been so afraid to apply to any jobs with UX title, Google or not, because I'm always doubting myself and telling myself I'm still under-qualified.
UX designers & hiring managers, what are the skills a designer must have to be "qualified" for a UX position? Keywords on resume? Certifications? Thank you all in advance!

A much more comprehensive background check, so never ever put anything on your cv that you don’t have proof for.
yeah - I was background checked and drug tested [things you’d never see in an agency world]. otherwise the process was pretty straight forward - recruiter phone screen, phone interview w hiring manager, in person with 4 people, offer. 1 month from first contact to offer.
similar experience to agencies.
Drug tested? How archaic.
A smidge.
What are they looking for when they do a background check?
That you are who you say you are, are not a felon and didn’t lie on your resume.
It’s gonna vary by company. My hiring process was no different than agency: interview, reference check, offer, start.
Same experience as people here. Extensive background check. They call every single reference. Need to pass a drug test.
Still felling it out. Was recruited by my old client and 2 ex coworkers. Had really simple interviews more conversations and was told an offer was coming. Not sure the actual Onboarding process if I accept hope to find out this week
