Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.
Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

Aren’t all plans these days HDHP? My family is on one. What are the other options? I’ve worked for three companies and all had high deductible plans as their only options
Ours is still Cadillac. No premium. No deductible.
I do it to get HSA that is used for triple tax advantaged retirement savings (no tax on contributions, growth, or withdrawal) and just pay out of pocket for current medical expenses.
Plus, the difference in the premium of HDHP compared to regular PPO is large, about $6400/yr
Same. Usually a small “hole” in the HDHP plan around $4-5k in healthcare spend where it would be more expensive. Even with kids HDHP has been right for us (when we didn’t have BCG insurance). Also, HDHP gives access to HSA which is one of the very best retirement vehicles.
I do low deductible - better cost benefit
Switched to high deductible as my kids got older
expect to pay the full deductable every year when they're young
Low deductible - never know what’s going to happen with small kids. Plus it covers all the other things in life. Worth it
