Bain & Company Can someone recommend a good starting point on how to go around solving case interviews? What frameworks should I follow? I've done it before but the burn out is real. I only lasted 3 months. It only takes a shift in expectations or major deadline at one position for it to become overwhelming. I did save enough for a down payment on a home though. I might do it again if I had a specific goal in mind. It's not something that's sustainable.
I worked remote for ~7 years but only one job at a time. It's great. I was paid the same as my office going peers (if not more), had significantly more flexibility, and was able to work in high impact roles. I did have to travel to meet with my teams but that's to be expected. Plus I liked that my dogs can hang out with me during the day.
I'm back in am office which I'm also enjoying but I think that is a function of being away from an office for so long.
I worked remote for 4 years. It’s doable if you build your social network in other ways. I got involved in book clubs and toast master groups that met at lunchtime or early evening.
I did none of these things. Just me in an office on conference calls for 6 hours a day =]
How did they find the remote jobs?
OP-it’s not that bad. We aren’t nearly as cut throat as Deloitte, EY, and all the rest. I could make more at any of them and many other places but if work was only about the pay I wouldn’t be in federal consulting.
Op - how is your friend able to work two jobs? Are they two “full-time” jobs that are expecting full-time hours? I’m trying to understand how he’s able to do that. I’m interested in doing that myself. Thanks!
I'm told neither company cares but I dont think he explicitly shared these details with them..might be a grey area..this is a good question.
How do you find such remote opportunities
I just asked my boss if I could work remote. Try converting your current position before looking elsewhere.
M2 you believe that reality because its possible you drank your company's koolaid and I'm not in the business to change your perspective on things. You do you👍
i did not know tele-sex paid so well
A BAH colleague was recently terminated for having a second remote job. Apparently it’s against once our employee agreements (IP probably). I will say that BAH might not have found out if they hadn’t bragged about it. I will say that side gigs are common among developers though they don’t usually amount to FT hours.
