Hello all, i have. A question regarding compensation for a lateral move. I just received a job offer for an UA position from a competing cyber insurance carrier for $70,000 + bonuses. This job will be based out of San Francisco. I currently make $30/hour for the same role in Chicago, after OT it’s about $60,000. Do you think it would be wise to accept the offer? What do you do to get yourself comfortable saying something doesn’t exist in an agreement or in case law? When i get questions like this (Ex. Does this contract have XYZ-type language?) I usually figure out the answer pretty quickly…but then I spend a ton of time trying to prove myself wrong. I got burned on a question like this as a 2nd yr, so I think I’m just hyper aware of the risk. I’ve been told I need to get “more efficient” though, so I’m trying to work on this. Any suggestions?

I don’t want to tell my current firm I’m leaving for this other firm until it’s official…which means I can’t use my current bosses as references.
