Looking to break into IB but didn’t go to a target school. Passed Level 1 of CFA. Is MBA the only way for me to break in?
Has any of the MBB been doing much work in public sector since the onset of pandemic? Would they be willing to hire someone with exclusively public sector experience of +6 years and an MBA from Canada? Asking because during the MBA recruitment, public sector experience was not helpful as MBB didn't focus there a lot.
How to get more business acumen? Currently in data engineering/analytics consulting. Looking to get into bizops/strategy type of work. Can't do a MBA right now. Have gotten interviews, but fail them.
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
Anybody switch from tech to strategy? What struggles did you face? Looking to make the switch when I graduate with my MBA

I believe MBA has somewhere lost its value. In the age of technology, one should pursue Technology related courses rather than spending a hefty amount on MBA. What's your view on this fishes?
I work in consulting for 5 years now and I have been accepted to a Masters in SCM at MIT. I wish to return to consulting after the program. I am wondering if I should seek an MBA in the future

Wonder if people who claim to be more effective and efficient thanks to WFH and wish to never go back to the office are the same people whose jobs are more likely to get off-shored/ outsourced? At the end of the day, if it's just a transactional, "follow-the script" kind of job requiring minimal interaction/relationship/collaboration with other team members, why would the companies be incented to keep paying salaries + benefits when they can just as easily ship these jobs overseas?
How can I earn a bazillion babillion dollars so I can FIRE and not have to worry about working? Older friend got laid off. Contd...
Hi folks! I’m currently a PM intern at a big Chicago agency but I’m looking to transfer into strategy. I don’t think I will be getting an offer from my current agency as it seems they are focusing on hiring more senior level management. Is anyone hiring or does anyone have any leads/ someone who could refer me for a junior position? It would be much appreciated as a fresh grad. Thanks!! 🤠
What firm are you at and what are the maternity leave benefits? We only get about 3 months using parental leave and short term disability paid at 100%.

I know the usual advice for saving is emergency fund - 401k up to match - max IRA - max 401k - HSA?/personal brokerage. However, where does saving for a house deposit and car deposit (want used but only ~2-3 yrs old) fit in? I’m 26, 100k salary and have been trying to put away 3k per month into HYSA/emergency fund, was maxing 401k at ~$800 per pay period (lowered to $400 a month a few months ago since no firm match and would like to put $ into HYSA/house/car fund), and $500/month to max IRA.
Turning off all Good notifications and alerts on my cellphone. If you need me, I'll be on vacation. Peace ✌🏻
My firms bonus structure is based on “billed out” (what a partner actually bills to the client) dollars instead of actual hours billed. So you can work 2000 hours but the bonus is based on only 1850 hours, because 150 got cut over the year. Is this normal? It seems entirely unfair and makes it impossible to get a bonus.
Are red states reporting low death numbers intentionally? How can deaths and death ratios be so low especially FL? https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
When leaving for a corporate job as a senior associate is it normal to get a cut in base salary?

Anyone exit from strategy consulting to a role in Louisville, KY? What are the opportunities like, if any? My wife may be taking a job there; trying to gauge the impact on my career. I’ve been doing research on companies and such but also interested in anecdotes from here.
If you could work remote from anywhere in the US, where would you? (Within reason, of course)
I'm sure this heavily firm and individual dependent, but generally what happens to seniors who don't make partner at market firms? Are they pushed out? After when? And what are the general exit options?
Is the main advantage of applying to mba early simply to literally start making more sooner? Is it easier when you’re younger? I’m fortunately not in a rush to apply and I think next year my app will be stronger, my income is not gonna be much higher post mba, I’ll have another promotion, better recs, and less debt to take on. What am I missing?
