I would make sure you double check any work agreements between the two companies to make sure you’re cleared. The last company I freelanced at explicitly said in their terms for my employment that I was to only work for them so I wouldn’t be able to do two remote jobs.
If you’re an independent contractor on a 1099 though then by nature you’re able to work for other clients as long as your work is not impacted for any particular client when taking multiple gigs.
You can go to /overemployed on Reddit for specific tips on being successful in having multiple jobs. They give advice about how you have your LinkedIn set up, as well as a number of other worthwhile topics. I think the general advice though is to not be vocal about having two positions.

Normally unless your a contractor there are clauses in your employment contract about getting any outside employment cleared by HR. You mentioned avoiding conflicts. The fact is most employers have typical work hours of 9-5 and expect you to be available during those hours so even if not a direct competitor most companies will view that as a conflict of interest if you have 2 companies expecting you to be available during those hours.
As a freelancer I’ve had 2 or 3 gigs and a few ongoing projects. I just block out my time on my calendar where I’m not available. If I’m at a freelance gig where the client has lots of meetings, or they are spontaneous meetings I just stick to one.
